To help you with using our endowment claims service, you will need to have the following information to hand:

• The firm's 6-digit reference number. This is the unique 6-digit reference number given to each authorised firm by the regulator. It is sometimes called the SIB or FSA number. If you have any problems finding this number, contact your endowment policy provider, they will be able to give you the reference number for the firm you originally dealt with. You might also be able to find this number by looking on the FSA's Register of firms or by calling their Helpline on 0845 606 1234.
• The start date of your endowment policy. Unfortunately our rules don't allow us to investigate any potential claims that relate to financial advice given before 28 August 1988. This is the date when investment advice was first protected by an investor compensation scheme in the UK, but if you purchased your policy before this date, but have received advice on that policy after that date, then we can help…
